　　多媒体大学（Multimedia University，简称：MMU）前身为马来西亚电讯大学，是由马来西亚政府于1997年批准成立的第一所正式称为“University”的私立大学。大学因其现代化的实验室和教学设施，新颖的教学方法，高素质的师资力量及学术研究活动而著称，是一所世界级的大学。

　　学校有来自世界各地64个国家的学生，包括伊朗，日本，中国，美国，南非，印度等等国家。本科在校人数达19291人，其中外国留学生2200多人。同时该大学也是亚太地区硅谷——多媒体超级走廊（MSC）的成员，支持并推动着MSC乃至整个国家的发展，使MSC和美国硅谷一样的成功。因而，多媒体大学的毕业生受到国内外著名企业的垂青，被誉为“马来西亚的清华大学”。

　　多媒体大学共有三个校区，除了位于马六甲州爱极乐（Ayer Keroh），多媒体大学另外两所分院坐落在马来西亚首都吉隆坡（多媒体大学赛城校区）和柔佛州依斯干达公主城（多媒体大学柔佛校区）。学校有来自世界各地64个国家的学生，在校本科生和研究生超过1万6千多人。学科授予学士至博士学位。

　　多媒体大学，是根据马来西亚首相马哈蒂尔关于"发展成为具有真正世界水准的大学，吸引一流的师资和学生前来工作和学习"的要求而投巨资设立的，在马来西亚家喻户晓。在首都吉隆坡最著名的高科技开发带"多媒体走廊"中，发挥着类似美国斯坦福大学在加州硅谷地区所充当的角色和作用。

　　大学采用先进的“多媒体教学系统” (MMLS)，所有课程的资料和授课笔记都可以从网上下载。并且方便学生随时了解课程的信息。“网络多媒体教育项目”（NMES）是由马来西亚能源交通及多媒体部(MECM)与日本国际合作机构(JICA)合作，由日方提供专家与设备，在多媒体大学赛柏再也（Cyberjaya）校区建立的一个电教中心，着力于IT和多媒体的教育和培训。

　　Multimedia UniversityMultimedia University (MMU), a tertiary education institution set up through Universiti Telekom Sdn Bhd (UTSB), a wholly owned subsidiary of TM, fulfils the noblest of corporate social responsibilities – taking up the challenge of educating the next generation the nation’s leaders and knowledge workers.
